Twas the month before Christmas and all through the town, no one seemed to notice as local small business’s shut down.
People were happily shopping online, setting for hours thinking they were saving lots of time. Falling prey to false adds and cheap crap from foreign lands they cluelessly sat like zombies with devices in hands.

Merchants and Friends,
I was very happy with the results of last night’s meeting. Thank You to Ice House for letting us have the meeting there. We had a great turn out, and a number of guest speakers. We had Captain Russell Green and Community Affairs Officer Caldero come and discuss a few topics. I have attached their contact sheet for the precinct. We were also surprised by a visit from Councilman Jimmy Vacca and Congressman Crowley.

The Mall at Scott Place is now open. Located at 3602 East Tremont Ave, the shops consist of a Giabella's Jewelry, Vincenzo's Hairstylists, Carmine's Sweet Shoppe, and the Scott Place Café. Along the side of the building, there is an outdoor patio seating area with tables and umbrellas for warmer months. This unique (for Throggs Neck) set-up is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Parking issues in Throggs Neck are piling up as fast as the snow and officials with the Throggs Neck Merchants Association are looking to resolve the problems.
TNMA officials are planning to meet with the City Departments of Transportation and Sanitation to address growing concerns with meters and parking availability.
“There are multiple issues there that we’re trying to address,” John Cerini, president of the association said. “We’re just trying to get a handle on the situation.”

The holiday season officially kicks off this Sunday in Throggs Neck with the lighting of the community’s Christmas tree on Sunday, December 5 at 5:30 p.m. The first 300 children in attendance will receive toys from Santa Claus, who is expected to ride in from the North Pole.

The city suddenly did a 180-degree turn Wednesday on a controversial plan that had local merchants groups raising the roof.
The Department of Transportation had proposed charging merchants associations and business improvement districts - already hurting from high taxes, overzealous meter maids and a sagging economy - thousands of dollars for hanging promotional banners.
