In a matter of weeks, the coronavirus (COVID-19) devastated families, pushed our healthcare network to its brink, and shuttered businesses. The physical, mental, and economic toll on our city and state have been unfathomable. Yet, despite all of the challenges, we are New York Tough and determined to win this battle.
With New York State on P.A.U.S.E., in an effort to stop the spread, every industry has struggled to cope with major losses and identify the support that they need to remain afloat. We understand that no two businesses are alike, because their setbacks and needs are unique. Therefore, the City has conducted assessment surveys and virtual calls to hear ideas and concerns directly from every stakeholder.
At 12pm today, the NYC Office of Nightlife will host a town call for workers and freelancers. The speakers include experts who can answer questions and offer resources to help you get your business back on track. I encourage you to RSVP, extend the invitation to others, then share the anticipated opportunities within your networks.
We are all in this together. It is important to remember that we must remain engaged and informed in order to empower others. Our sense of CommUNITY will be vital in the weeks and months that will follow as we rebuild, recover, and emerge stronger than ever before.
Sincerely,Farah N. LouisCouncil Member, District 45Happening Today
